Membership

The National American Indian Veterans Inc. offers five types of membership as outlined below. The membership year for NAIV is from adjournment of Annual Convention to adjournment of the following Annual Convention. Dues are due and payable at or before the adjournment of Annual Convention each year for the following year.

Individual Membership

Veterans who shall declare themselves to be American Indian, Native Alaskan, Native Hawaiian, or Native Samoan and can provide documented evidence of active military service or a DD 214 showing release from active military service in the armed forces of the United States of America shall be eligible for this class of membership.)

Membership Dues:

• Individual Membership
  • $ 25 annually until the membership year following 70th birthday
• Individual Lifetime (2005 & 2006 membership years only)
  • $150 veterans eligible for Individual Membership, special offer good for 2005 & 2006 membership years only
• Individual Lifetime (beginning with 2007 membership year)
  • $350, ages 18 - 40
  • $250, ages 41 - 50
  • $200, ages 51 - 60
  • $150, ages 61 - 69
• Disabled Veteran Lifetime
  • $75 - 100 % service connected, documented evidence require

Individual Associate Membership

A veteran who is not a member of a tribe is eligible for this class of membership which has the right to speak but does not include the right to vote at any meeting of NAIV. This class of membership shall be limited to no more members than that established for federal tax exempt eligibility under section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code or any future revenue code of the United States of America.

Membership Dues:

• $40 annually

Organization Associate Membership

Veteran Organizations and other entities (including non-veteran individuals) are eligible for this class of membership which has the right to speak but does not include the right to vote at any meeting of NAIV. This class of membership shall be limited to no more members than that established for federal tax exempt eligibility under section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code or any future revenue code of the United States of America.

Membership Dues:

• Organization Associate - $500 annually
• Platinum Associate - $50,000 initiation plus annual fee
• Gold Associate - $10,000 initiation plus annual fee
• Silver Associate - $5,000 initiation plus annual fee

Honorary Membership

The National Executive Council may, because of particularly noble acts or services, from time to time offer a person who is not a veteran or an organization which is not organized for veterans an Honorary Membership which has the right to speak but does not include the right to vote at any meeting of NAIV. This class of membership shall be limited to no more members than that established for federal tax exempt eligibility under section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code or any future revenue code of the United States of America.

Membership Dues:

• $0

Tribal Government Associate Membership

A tribe is eligible for this class of membership which has the right to speak but does not include the right to vote at any meeting of NAIV. This class of membership shall be limited to no more members than that established for federal tax exempt eligibility under section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code or any future revenue code of the United States of America.

Membership Dues:
Annual revenues shall be determined by most recent financial statement as certified by tribal scretary.

• $5,000 annually if annual revenue is or in excess of $5 million
• $1,000 annually if annual revenue is $1 million to $5 million
• $500 annually if annual revenue is $1/2 million to $1 million
• $100 annually if annual revenue is less than $1million
