Why Join
For far too long, American Indian Warriors have been the forgotten Veterans. Important issues that affect American Indian Veterans include a lack of adequate housing and the inability to receive proper representation to obtain health care, earned compensation, pension, and burial benefits for their families. The American Indian population percentage wise is the highest represented ethnic group serving in the military armed forces in proportion to their total population numbers. Indian Veterans have a proud legacy of defending our homeland and this must be acknowledged by National VA policies that support our people.
There has long been a need to unite under one body all American Indian, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiian Veterans who served in the armed forces of the United States so that they can speak with a single voice. NAIV meets that need and serves as a representative of all American Indian Veterans and their families. NAIV also represents them before all Federal and State VA agencies as well as the Congress of the United States of America. NAIV provides outreach services to Tribal Veterans through both training and education.
