Membership Benefits

Native American Indian Veteran members will be supported in the following ways:

  • NAIV service officers will represent members to accomplish the following:
    • Completion of benefit applications for service and non-service related disabilities
    • Assist in filing for burial benefits, headstones and markers
    • Assist in obtaining Veterans health care and medical support
    • Assist in upgrading discharges before the Board For Correction Of Military Records
    • Assist in obtaining copies of discharges from the National Military Personnel Center
    • Assist the veteran of upgrading his or her benefits
    • Assist veteran in obtaining home loans on and off the reservation
    • Assist homeless veterans on and off the reservation
  • Will have full access to all NAIV website resources and National Office support
  • Will have American Indian Veterans issues represented before Congress
  • Will receive on a quarterly basis the “Warrior” the latest in information affecting Native American Veterans
  • Can attend all NAIV National functions including the annual conference
  • Can participate in the election of National Officers
  • Can hold positions either appointed or elected within the organization
  • Access to regional representation
  • Can participate in the establishment of a lodge
  • May submit issues, concerns and needs to be considered by the organization
  • May submit personal stories to be shared for consideration for possible publication in National communication vehicles
