Membership Benefits
Native American Indian Veteran members will be supported in the following ways:
- NAIV service officers will represent members to accomplish the
following:
- Completion of benefit applications for service and non-service related disabilities
- Assist in filing for burial benefits, headstones and markers
- Assist in obtaining Veterans health care and medical support
- Assist in upgrading discharges before the Board For Correction Of Military Records
- Assist in obtaining copies of discharges from the National Military Personnel Center
- Assist the veteran of upgrading his or her benefits
- Assist veteran in obtaining home loans on and off the reservation
- Assist homeless veterans on and off the reservation
- Will have full access to all NAIV website resources and National Office support
- Will have American Indian Veterans issues represented before Congress
- Will receive on a quarterly basis the “Warrior” the latest in information affecting Native American Veterans
- Can attend all NAIV National functions including the annual conference
- Can participate in the election of National Officers
- Can hold positions either appointed or elected within the organization
- Access to regional representation
- Can participate in the establishment of a lodge
- May submit issues, concerns and needs to be considered by the organization
- May submit personal stories to be shared for consideration for possible publication in National communication vehicles
